About the Practitioner

Miriam BuntonOriginally from Brooklyn, New York, I received a Bachelor’s of Psychology from St. Johns University.  In 1990 my family and I moved to Florida and I subsequently enrolled at Florida State University to pursue a Masters in Social Work Graduate degree.  Since 1992, I have been providing clinical services to children, teenagers, adults, and families in the Tampa Bay area.  I am also fluent in Spanish.

About Therapy

Therapy provides an opportunity for personal growth and enhances personal skills to manage life stressors. Such stressors may include grief, divorce, occupational and social difficulties, trauma, alcohol and substance abuse, relationship and family issues, depression, anxiety, and mental illness.

Treatment Modalities

Each person is unique, and so each treatment plan is a collaborative effort between the clinician and the client. Here we will discuss your personal goals and devise a strategic treatment plan to achieve such goals. Therapies utilized include cognitive- behavioral, solution-focused, interpersonal and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
